April Bloom is a networking site with the aim of bringing together like-minded people from all walks of life, to bring to light, the damage that has occurred to Planet Earth over the decades. Economic boom, globalisation and population explosion has lead to exploitation of natural resources and inturn damages to the ecosystem that holds all forms of life together. The evidence can be seen in the form of loss of biodiversity, species extinction, extreme weather patterns recorded in different parts of the world in the form of floods, hurricanes, drought, unexpected rainfall/snow, evolution and adaptation of wildlife to new weather conditions/ environment.
Global warming is really happening and whether we like it or not we are part of it and we are responsible for it. Global warming is the increase in temperature of earth’s atmosphere, land masses and oceans. Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases mainly carbon dioxide, CFC’s (chloro-fluro-carbons), nitrous oxide and methane which are produced or emitted through various human activities such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation. IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports the global temperature would increase from 1.1 degree celsius to 6.4 degree celsius during the 21st century.
What is your role here?
Anxiety and concern in the form of words is not enough at this dire moment. We all need to take action. Many might feel powerless to take action, and might leave to the politicians and hope everything is going to be alright. Like charity begins at home, ethical or moral consciousness should originate from home. Let us save the planet with our own efforts and initiatives.
